A Night to Remember at Truro Cathedral

On Wednesday 13th November, Truro Cathedral was awash with celebrations as 69 trophies were presented to the leading tourism and hospitality businesses from Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Walking into that magnificent venue alongside our incredible team, knowing we were finalists, was already a proud moment – but to leave with a Bronze award in our hands was beyond our wildest dreams!

Recognition That Means the World

This award represents so much more than a trophy to us. After 43 years serving the community and this being our first time entering the Cornwall Tourism Awards, to be recognised for our work in accessibility and inclusion validates everything we've been striving towards.

The judging process was rigorous – over four months with 81 visits carried out by independent judges assessing hospitality businesses for excellence in customer service, sustainability, digital communications, and accessibility. To stand alongside the other winners and know that our efforts to welcome everyone to the Camel Trail have been noticed and celebrated is incredibly meaningful.

Awards organiser Robin Barker of Services for Tourism commented : "reading the judge reports from visits to these businesses, bring tears of delight to my eyes! The innovation, persistence and dedication of tonight’s winners is simply extraordinary. Many congratulations."

Our Accessibility Journey

From our wheelchair bikes and recumbent Ice trikes to our team learning Makaton, we've invested heavily in ensuring everyone can experience the joy of cycling the Camel Trail. As the only Camel Trail bike hire with direct, traffic-free access, we're uniquely positioned to serve families and visitors with accessibility needs.

But equipment is only part of the story. Our young, enthusiastic team has embraced every training opportunity, every piece of research, and every new idea to create an atmosphere where everyone feels genuinely welcome and well cared for. This Bronze award belongs to them just as much as it does to the business.

Building an Accessible Cornwall

One of the most exciting outcomes of the awards has been making fantastic new connections across Cornwall's accessible tourism sector. We're proud to be part of a county working hard to provide a warm welcome to all visitors and locals alike. The celebrations don't stop here! On 5th December, we'll be heading to Falmouth for the Cornwall Sustainability Awards where we've been invited to attend thanks to our innovative work in:
