What to Bring for a Day Out on the Camel Trail
A day cycling along the Camel Trail offers one of Cornwall's most delightful experiences, winding through stunning estuary views and peaceful woodland. Whether you're planning a family adventure or a leisurely ride, proper preparation will make your journey along this former railway line even more enjoyable.
Essential Planning Tips
Book your bikes in advance, especially during peak seasons. The trail's popularity means availability can become limited quickly, particularly during summer holidays and weekends.

Pack water and snacks to keep energy levels high throughout your cycle, our super comfort bikes come with handy panniers!
Bring layers of clothing for Cornwall's famously changeable weather - you might experience sunshine, wind, and light rain all in one day!
Route Planning
Plan your route carefully - while the entire trail is wonderfully flat and accessible, you have several options:
The traffic-free section to Padstow with its harbour views
Through historic Wadebridge and back on to the Camel Trail to Bodmin ( 5 miles) and perhaps the peaceful surroundings of Wenfordbridge (further 7 miles)
Allow generous time for stops and exploration - rushing through would mean missing the trail's charm.
